NO MARGARINE PLEASE

  - Posted in General on 02/06/2010 03:27 pm by admin

Pass The Butter  Please.

This is interesting . .. .

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten  turkeys  When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put  all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their  heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get  their money back.
It was a white substance with no food appeal  so they added the yellow colouring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.  How do you like it?  They have come out  with some clever new flavourings.

DO YOU KNOW.. The difference between margarine and butter?

Read on to the end…gets very interesting!

Both have the same amount of calories.

Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams; compared to 5 grams for margarine.

Eating margarine can increase  heart disease in women by  53%  over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent  Harvard Medical Study.

Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.

Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few and
only because  they are added!

Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of  other foods.

Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years .

And now, for Margarine..

Very High in Trans fatty acids.

Triples risk of coronary heart disease .
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and  lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)

Increases the risk of cancers up to five times…

Lowers quality of breast milk.

Decreases immune response.

Decreases insulin response.

And here’s the most disturbing fact…… HERE IS THE PART THAT  IS  VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC… and shares 27 ingredients with PAINT

These facts alone were enough to have me avoiding margarine for life  and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the  substance).

You  can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it open in your garage or shaded  area.  Within a couple of days you will notice a couple of things:

*  no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)

*  it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weeny  microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.  Why?  Because it is nearly plastic .  Would you melt your Tupperware and  spread that on your toast?

Share This With Your Friends…..(If you want to butter them up’)!

The Amazing Cucumber
1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

4.. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminium to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

“StemEnhance the worlds first nutritional stem cell enhancer”

  - Posted in General on 01/07/2010 08:10 pm by admin
A True Gift of Mother Nature

"Astoundingly wide variety of health benefits"

What is it?
StemEnhance™ is a breakthrough, natural botanical extract that supports wellness by helping your body maintain healthy stem cell physiology. It is the very first product on the market from the latest phytoceutical product category called “stem cell enhancers”.

What are stem cell enhancers?
Recent scientific developments have revealed that stem cells derived from the bone marrow, travel throughout the body, and act to support optimal organ and tissue function. Stem cell enhancers are products that support the natural role of adult stem cells.

Why do I need this product?
As you age, the number and quality of stem cells that circulate in your body gradually decrease, leaving your body more susceptible to injury and other age-related health challenges.

Just as antioxidants are important to protect your cells from “free radical” damage, stem cell enhancers are equally important to support your stem cells in maintaining proper organ and tissue functioning in your body.

How does it work?
When you take two capsules, the ingredients help to support the release of stem cells from the bone marrow into the bloodstream. Through a natural process, those stem cells then travel to areas of the body where they are most needed.

What are stem cells?
Stem cells can be thought of as “master” cells. You’ve probably heard about the controversy of embryonic stem cells in the news. Stem cells are found in human embryos, but are also found in adult tissue.

Adult stem cells are most abundantly found in bone marrow. Stem cells circulate and function to replace dysfunctional cells, thus fulfilling the natural process of maintaining optimal health. StemEnhance supports the release of adult stem cells from bone marrow into circulation.

The recent advances in stem cell research were listed as one of the most significant health-related stories in the past 25 years by CNN, second only to the complete mapping of the human genome.

Is StemEnhance™ scientifically studied?
Yes. Several clinical studies have been conducted on the product, in addition to several in-vitro trials.

Where is it available?
StemEnhance is only available through STEMTech HealthSciences, Inc. and its independent distributors. The formulation is patented and is the first of its kind on the market.

The Bathtub Test

I love this one!

During a visit to the mental asylum, I asked the director : How do you
determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized?”

‘Well,’ said the Director, ‘we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a
teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to
empty the bathtub.’

‘Oh, I understand,’ I said. ‘A normal person would use the bucket
because it’s bigger than the spoon or the teacup.’

‘No.’ said the Director, ‘A normal person would pull the plug. Do you
want a bed near the window?’

ARE YOU GOING TO PASS THIS ON, OR DO YOU WANT THE BED NEXT TO MINE?

BANANAS – who knew?

  - Posted in General on 01/06/2010 05:28 pm by admin

After Reading THIS, you’ll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!

Bananas Containing three natural sugars – sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world’s leading athletes. But energy isn’t the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet.

Depression:
According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

PMS:
Forget the pills — eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.

Anemia:
High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia.

Blood Pressure:
This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke.

Brain Power:
200 students at a Twickenham school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Constipation:
High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

Hangovers:
One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:
Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Morning Sickness:
Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

Mosquito bites:
Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

Nerves:
Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Overweight and at work?
Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady.

Ulcers:
The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Temperature control:
Many other cultures see bananas as a “cooling” fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD):
Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking:
Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress:
Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body’s water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes:
According to research in “The New England Journal of Medicine,” eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, “A banana a day keeps the doctor away!”

PASS IT ON TO YOUR FRIENDS

It’s Snowing Outside

  - Posted in General on 01/06/2010 12:26 pm by admin

Come on now let’s be doing something useful on this cold snowy morning. I’d like to share my thoughts with you.
I’m 63 years old now and in 2000 I retired financially independent, well life has a habit of changing your destiny and 2009 has surely been a testing time.
I am sitting here today evaluating where to go with my life, I love my website and the fact that I can help a lot of people with allergy problems and chronic things like arthritis and I’d never stop chatting to folks about how they can do such a good job of keeping themselves healthy with a little thought and the right supplements.
However, I also like chatting about our apartments in the Caribbean these are fantastic and from an initial idea of just supplementing our pension they will become a major part of our income.
This blog isn’t the place to expound their merits so please have a look at our website www.pearl-investment-property.co.uk and take the time to see how you can make 2010 a year to remember.
Goodness it’s already 12.30 and time for coffee. Have a great day

One Week On

  - Posted in General, News on 01/09/2009 07:47 pm by admin

Most people have now been back at work for a week and already it seems as if Christmas is long in the past. Trouble is the over indulgence has left its mark and I for one am doing my best to combat this. I lost 1.5 lbs last week  which isn’t bad but now I want to feel good in myself.

So, this is what I’ve done:

Doubled my dose of Maximol solutions  to give all those vitamins, minerals and trace elements that I have been losing with all the rich food and drink I’ve been having.

Doubled my Probiotic a performance formula that promotes optimum digestive health and helps immune function by supporting the growth of friendly bacteria.  With 2.88 billion viable* cells per capsule, this is one of the most powerful probiotics on the market. An effective way to readily aid digestive health and enhance the absorption of food and nutrients.

Decided to take Feelin’ Good for 7 days. This is an organic fibre supplement designed to help support and maintain a healthy digestive system and lower intestinal tract. Containing flaxseed, psyllium husk and slippery elm powders blended together with many other powerful ingredients to maintain and balance general health and well being that may also support colon health.

I have also been researching an advert I’ve seen on  TV for a product called The One Week Diet Program, it sounded good on the television but please do your own research before you purchase.

It costs £29.99 for 1 week or £155.94 for 6 weeks. When I checked the nutrition facts on their website I decided that Neways Maximol was far better value and I know it contains all I need to help with my feel good programme., along with sensible eating

Well here goes, I am now committed to my task as I have put pen to paper, if you would like to join me on this journey

then please just email me on janetdalby@btinternet.com and we can move forwards together.

. Good luck

A New Year a New You

  - Posted in General on 01/07/2009 09:39 am by admin

Well I’ve made it through to January 7th despite the ever lowering temperatures! yesterday morning I was supposed to be at a breakfast networking meeting at 6.45am, however with -8c it was what my husband termed a non urgent journey so I was persuaded to stay in bed! wonderful, but no way to build a business and pay the mortgage.

I spent a little time reading the Daily Mail “All New Atkins Diet”, I’m not against any diet that you can stick to, feel well and lose weight. At least with Atkins you are eating good quality food, should never feel hungry and I’m pleased to see they’ve added more vegetables. It looks to me as if the second phase OWL (ongoing weight loss) is a sensible eating plan that you could do for a lifetime.

Please do bear in mind though that you need to take a high quality vitamin and mineral supplement whilst you are on this plan. As far as I am concerned we should all do this anyway. I’m sure everyone knows that the food we eat today is devoid of most of its nutritional value. Our vegetables are grown on land that has been overfarmed for many years and although farmers put back NPK to make the vegetables grow big and strong they do not add the vitamins and trace elements that are so important to us on a daily basis. Please have a look at Maximol I have been taking this liquid supplement for 10 years and have never felt healthier in my life. My energy levels are for greater than my friends of the same age (62 yrs) I suffer from no aches and pains and haven’t had a cold or flu for 10 years. I would never stop taking it. Take the time to listen to the video it could be your way forward to sustained energy and a positive outlook for 2009.

We all know that for some people 2009 is going to be a difficult year, but it’s not the challenges we come across that defeat us it’s our outlook towards them.  I cannot stress enough how important it is to engender a positive mental attitude. With this you really can conquer all obstacles. It’s so easy to see all the bad things going on. I have started sitting quietly and thinking of all the things in my life I’m grateful for: this quiet time is so important because I want to enjoy all the good things not keep worrying about the things I have no influence over. So now I change the things I can……and learn to accept there are things I can’t…. change.

Have a fabulous day, don’t beat yourself up if you make mistakes, take a deep breath realise you’re only human.

To do things wrong is fine, it’s only when you quit that you fail.
